What version of VDP are you running? Did you update the vCenter registration info on VDP after changing the pass? If not heres how... Go to your VDP configuration page.....

Yea I would recommend a rollback or rebuild. Any backups that have happened since the point you rollback to will be lost. I honestly am not sure why the web configure area wouldn't be working for you....
