What is the best practice for backing up an active SQL database.
Assuming the recovery model is full, is it best to select full database backup every week or so, with force incremental after full backup? The Administration guide states that incremental backups will be taken to allow point in time recovery, but at what interval will the incremental backups be taken?
This seems similar to the incremental or differential backup option with "force full backup", but this setting seems to provide only a single full backup, and then just differential/incremental backups at every scheduled backup with no further full backups.
What do most people recommend?
